So I've been out of commission for a few days. I ran out of one of my prescriptions, a really important one, and the results were not pretty. Even though I'm taking it again, my pain is still very bad. My body doesn't like it when people mess with its schedule. Hopefully I'll start feeling better soon so that I can go out tonight.

| Ladies Always Use Poison (A Jewelry Post) |

I usually post jewelry pictures to ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) bubblejewelry, but as these piece were inspired by a comment here by corvaxgirl about her Lady Poisoner costume. It got me thinking, not just about how women are notorious for using poison as a means to murder, but of Lucrezia Borgia. So much rumor surrounded her during her lifetime that has carried over into the present. When I think about poison, I always think of her.
So started my first "concept pieces" I suppose. They are a bit of a departure from my normal style, but I guess that is what makes them concept pieces. corvaxgirl, if you would like either of these please let me know. You were my inspiration! You also mentioned wanting jewelry for your costume.

My thoughts aren't very coherent right now due to sleepiness. I just wanted to say that I got about a foot cut off my hair. I love my new haircut! It's short and awesome and my head feels ten times lighter, it was way too heavy before.
Also Amanda, I got your card. It was really super nice! Thank you so much! You look absolutely adorable in that picture! And you're wearing the earrings that I made you! |

Both Librarian movies were on today. It's been one of the most entertaining television days in a while. I've been considering my future career more recently, which is a practice in frustration. However, maybe working in a library work be easier on my condition, when/if I can ever work again. Until then, I gonna sell me some jewelry!
Icons have Christmasified.
Have the Pittsburgh Steampunk Afternoon Tea all set up. The guests are confirmed and the reservations finalized. I even made a pretty little invitation. ( See? )
I have to finish sewing my jacket for the event. I can't believe I get to say that. You know what else I can't believe? My mother looked at one of the modifications I made and said it looked "okay." OKAY! That is the highest compliment I've ever gotten from her in regards to my sewing. I spent the next fifteen minutes dancing around the house saying, "Yay! I can sew! Yay! I can sew!" And then my mom and my brother laughed at me.
Health front: Pain is getting worse still. I want to just be able to do something to fix it. Still five months until I can get any procedure done. |

Despite feeling awful, today was a good day filled with good food. I have so much to be thankful for this year and thinking about that has made me feel really grateful and happy.
Now this may seem like shameless self-promotion and consumerism, but it's not because I'm supporting the "Buy Handmade" movement. (Okay, maybe it's a little shameless, but you guys know I don't have a job and despite their insistence, I would like to get my family presents this year.)

I love my Victorian top hat. That being said, it can be hard to wear for periods of time because it's heavy and slightly big. Also, I've always wanted a shorter style top hat. They're so cute!

So when I was in Fredericksburg Brad and I went to the local tea parlor nearly everyday. It was fabulous. I need to find a tea house to frequent. I've been to places that serve tea, but not exclusively tea. I want a place that won't just throw me a bag and hot water in a styrofoam cup. This may be more difficult with the whole lack of driving thing because it means I can only go on the weekends and when my mom feels like it. *sigh*
I miss the whole ritual of drinking tea. People knowing that I love tea ask me why I don't drink it more often. It's because so many times I feel rushed. Tea is best when you don't have to worry about time and can simply sit with pretty china and a scone. |

was a very eventful day. I feel the need to chronologically log it.
Things I Got:
- About 743 words written for NaNoWriMo
- A possibly broken iPod
- An absolutely lovely Tea with cucumber sandwiches, scones, and tea cakes; which consequently led me to buy an ounce of loose green tea with jasmine
- Sterling silver wire and a new polishing cloth at the local bead store (That is still not as cool as mine!)
- A pair of slightly big combat boots for $20(!) at a military surplus store
- A huge fight with my boyfriend (we've since talked it out)
- The knowledge that I am stronger than I had thought, both physically and mentally
- Sore feet
- Quality Buffy-watching time with Brian ("Hush" still terrifies me.)
- A ton of chocolate peanut butter cookies, that I ate until my stomach got sick (Thanks again Brian!)

The trip to Mary Washington has been lovely. I had fun at the Renaissance Club's Masquerade, despite several snags. Yesterday was also nice, Brad and I got to be couple-y and go on a real date; something that rarely happens.
I'll post more details later as the trip is not yet over. Yes that right folks, I'll be staying at school until Tuesday.
I've been having a great time. It has been a bit bittersweet though: being here always makes me realize how much I love my college. When I'm coming back seems so far off and I really want to learn so much. I love my major and my department, I miss it. Not to mention the people or the place itself. |
